"Hello Dr. Burkett:

My name is Becky Church from North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. My husband, Don and I have a common interest with you and that is preserving great plott bloodlines. Our passion is to produce great looking performance hounds.

When my husband and I got started about three years ago we did our research and were very fortunate to become acquainted with Mr. Curtis Walker of Hillsboro WV.

He has dedicated much of his life, over 40 years, to improving the looks and perfomace capabilities of plott hounds. Most of his hounds are primarily bear dogs - but they are some of what I call the "gamiest - relentless" hunting dogs we have ever seen. It is an honor to see that you are carrying on some great plott bloodlines. I really enjoyed your website and was elated to see that you own the Red Maple Gypsy gyp. We have a male out of her and thought you might enjoying sort of an offspring report. His sire is CH NITECH 'PR Coys N.Union Looking Up Jacob which is a grandson of NITECH GRCH 'PR Ramsey's Brindle Bark.

"Bill" as we call him is a 3yr old as of September '06 - We bought him last year at Plott Days in Brazil, IN. He was owned by a gentleman in Kentucky and he allowed he was a little to quite on the ground to suit him. "Bill" as we call him is a tremendous tree dog and has proven to be very accurate. We have hopes of making him a duel champion. He has ability with the looks and he has a great personality to boot. We have already made him a show champion and he has one cast win. We were very disappointed when on one competition hunt he scored an 878 1/2 and did not win his cast. He was the second high scoring dog at this particular hunt out of 46 dogs. We currently have an eighth place win on him out of a 63 dog hunt. My husband has coonhunted most of his life and really feels like he needs to be hunted a lot more by himself - he says it just makes a better more confident dog. We searched for two years for a male that we thought would be an excellent cross for a few of our females. So his first pups are here, born this past Wednesday.

Here are some pictures of "Bill" from last weekend in Asheville NC - where he won BMOS and Best Plott Overall for the UKC division - this win made him a Show Champion and this was his third BMOS and he was only shown 5 times.
